don't bother knockin'!!

I finally managed to create the correct gradients within a microenvironment to stimulate breeding with several pairs of first timers of the brooksi phase of floridana (BPOF) and caught most occurrances on camera.

1) one pair of my white phase BPOF (2002 from Brandon Osborne's big whitie female x anerythristic) were caught in the act only I was too dumb/slow and didn't take any pics. Brandon could probably clarify but I do not know of any of her offspring being bred back to one another. Probably get some anerythristics and it'll be interesting to see the newborn whities.

2)got the extreme orange lav alb getting cozy with the white side female. I thought this would be a good pairing because the female carries so much dark pigment, thinking when that trait combines with the X-O it would make some very red backed hatchlings. I did not place those wood chips, the young couple must be modest.

3) anerythristic whiteside male checking out the snow female. All these youngin's should be anerythristic and double het for lavender albino and white side. This combo would have the same probability of producing the triple homozygous morph (WS snow) as other double het projects( ghost, snow): 1 out of 16. Triple hets have the probability of 1 out of 64 of producing the triple homozygous morph. Go ahead and give it a buzz on one of those free snake genetics web pages.

so, things are starting to finally hop here. I guess it would've happened sooner if i terminated brumation sooner. always on the tail end of the curve. more girls are exhibiting premating sheds so the cam will be ready.

we are a lucky group to be able to enjoy such pursuits.
