Well, my eastern collareds are well on their way to becoming an nice trio of adults. I am getting ready to add a pair or trio of leopard lizard to my menagerie. Apart from keeping the separate are there any major differences in the care of these two species. The trio of collareds are in a 48x24x24 cage but I was planning on keeping the leopards individually in 36x24x24 cages. Other than that from what I can gather the care for each of them is pretty much the same. The only possible difference I could find (and it was only from one source) is that the LLs may not like it quite as hot.

Collards like to get up on rocks or something so the can better. So it helps if you but a rock or peice of wood they can climb on. Leopard lizards from experiences I have had like the flatter dessert.

YEP, Open space for Leopard lizard I would say bigger area. They are larger than collared in most cases, and are big bipedalers. Running on just there hind legs using front one to guide.

My Leopards seem to like to dig under rocks even more than the collareds. So make sure you have at least a couple of nice wide, flat rocks securely resting on top of smaller ones to provide a cave for the lizards. I use sand for them, and they are always digging and kicking it out from under the rocks. So cute!
