Sleeping or defense?

krkaye Apr 14, 2006 02:22 PM

I have a newly aquired uro (I've posted a few messages already needing help) and I felt compelled to post this picture of our little guy from this morning. I took him in an enclosed area with me to run around a little. He was running around in my lap and then crawled into my shirt tail and seemed to go to sleep. He slept all the way on the journey upstairs to get the camera and then didn't budge when i took the photo! He's an active little guy; so when seeing him SO sleepy I wondered if he was really sleeping or was he "playing dead" in defense. I'm thinking it was sleep b/c he seems pretty comfortable running around on my daughter and me. He's a fun little fella.

Unless your house is a warm 90 degrees he was probably sleeping.

did you take the photo upstairs or in an area where he is used to being?

he may have been comfy and decided not to wake up but also if your lizard is in an area they are unfamiliar with, regardless if you are there or not, they can be "shy". i took helga to a pet store one day, i could tell by the look on her face that she wasn't going to "talk" to me for at least a week for taking her there.

kingsnake has a photo gallery that will let you post pictures easily. perhaps eve will be oh so nice as to post her picture posting instructions

I took the photo in the same enclosed place I took him to originally. He took it upon himself to crawl right in there & then went to sleep. How did you get yours to a pet store? Did you carry her? Or put her in something?
