For Those Who Do Not Use Incubators

Pastorpat Apr 14, 2006 03:44 PM

Hey Y'all,

I have a few questions for those of you who do not use incubators. 1) What temps do your eggs experience? 2) What about fluctuations in temps? 3) Where do you set them up??? Just curious---

I use my snake room temps. So early in the season my night time temps are in the mid to upper 70's with the highs in the mid 80's. Later in the summer the lows are in the low 80's and the highs in the mid 80's. I will also put them on the floor if we have a heat wave outside. There is about a 5-8 degree temp difference between my upper racks and my lower racks.

I put my shoeboxes in the melamine shelving I use for the snakes. I put them directly on the heat tape. It is still cool here early spring so I have the heat tape set on low. Average temps in the room are 65-75f spring, 78-88f in the summer.

i just use a styro box to put egg boxes in to avoid extremes in a room or closet w/ AC vents closed, temps? 70s to high 80s
