Updated photo of my tattoo (I know its not a boa)

Mickey_TLK Jul 29, 2003 07:58 PM

But I figured I know a couple of you guys would like to see an updated pic.

I have about another 40 plus hours to go on the back alone. I also plan on adding work to my ribs and down the arms (add to this concept that is) I will likely add a redtail down my left arm, incase you ask where to boa is. The artist will be going back over the whole thing adding scales, highlights and shadows to make it look as real as possible.

Hope you like, and Im sure your glad you dont have to sit through it.

that tattoo is freakin bad a**
i love it what is it costing thats alot of detail work!

Mickey_TLK Jul 29, 2003 10:11 PM

Per sitting, and I have sat roughly 15 times. Plus he charged me 125 for the first sitting, but that was a 4 hour session. Generally I sit for about 2-3 hours at a time. Who knows what its gonna cost me over the course of the tattoo, but Im sure its well under market value soo to speak. The artist, Chris Blinston owner of Big Brain Tattoos in Omaha, NE generally charges about 100 per hour, and as you can imagine by his work, is available by appointment only.

Its taken about 14 months to get this far, but we had an interuption due to medical issues I had, and he travels often for tattoo conventions. Hopefully we will get a go on it, and finish it up. I have another 3-4 hour sitting scheduled next month, and will post more pics after that session.

Absolutely beautiful!!! There's nothing better than great work done by a quality tattoo artist. Unfortunately, I haven't had any done in a while and none are herp related. I hope to change that soon though. I plan on having one of my pairs of boas with their heads resting on my shoulders. Please keep updating as you get more work done. Thanks for sharing, Scott Sullivan.

That is absolutely incredible! Not only the colors and detail, but the way he captured the "personalities" of the animals! The chameleon, iguana and one little frog look like they could walk right off your back. Can't wait to see the finished work.

love it!!
I plan on getting a BCC on my right arm to partially cover
another tat that I got when I was young... Who is doing
your work? (where are you?) It's hard sometimes finding
a good artist that will do the reptiles, scales and all!
Awesome ink thanks for sharing!
(I hope that's starbright color, lasts the longest..)

Mickey_TLK Jul 30, 2003 12:20 PM

Ink he is useing on me to be honest. It does appear to be far more vivid color then your run of the mill "biker" tattoo shops.

Not sure where you live, but if you are close enough to Nebraska, give him a call. He is the best artist in the state, and one of the best in the country in my opinion. He has won nuberous awards for his work, and I drool whenever I see other peoples work by him.

April...there are some great tatt artists in Las Vegas. Check with "Tiffany" at Exotic Pets in L.V., she can give you some suggestions there!
