I usually put my snakes in a tub of luke warm water with the lid on for about 15-20 minutes, I do this twice a day until it comes off. It usually comes off after the third time. Don't fill it up to far just enough to cover the snake. Hope this helps. Thanks Erick

Didn't I see you on another forum saying you took this snake to the vet? Oh well, in any case what I do when I have retained eyecaps is put them in a humid hid for about twenty minutes, let the cap get good and soggy. Option one is take a towel and let your snake slither on through hoping that the eyecap will come off with that action. If that doesn't work, grab some tweezers, settle in a stable comfy spot and take a good look for some loose skin to grab onto to pull it off. One of my males ALWAYS retains an eyecap, just one cap, same side, every time. This is what I do with him and it works like a charm.

that was on this forum, but it was not about the eye caps, she had just gotten over scale rot because i raised the humidity in the tank to much.......when she shed it wasnt complete and i did put her in a container with towels, and i thought she had finished, but she hadnt.

after the soak, instead of using tweezers (scares me around the eye area) take a piece of tape and lightly touch the eye cap with it. If the cap doesn't come off easily, soak some more and try again.

It won't hurt her to leave it until next shed. But it will be more comfortable for her (and probably you too) to remove it.

Since she is fairly small still - take her head and place it inside a nice warm wet washcloth (not too hot, just warm). You can do the whole body of she is skittish but the head is the important part. And just leave her there for about 5 minutes (give or take - I wait until the washcloth is noticabley cooler) - they don't usually don't mind this. After about 5 minutes take her head out and with the washcloth gently rub her eye starting at the front and working your way back. On the first or second rub you should see the cap lift off and then it should just come off with the next rub. If you have to do it more than a half a dozen rubs - go back to step one and try again.

I would stay away from any metal objects or the tape they could do more damage than good.
