I finally obtained my first pair of crocodile skinks. They are fascinating to look at, and appear to be like one would imagine a prehistoric lizard should look like. They reside in a large rubbermaid sweater box, with several hollowed logs for seclusion, as well as artificial vines, and a rock pool for submerging. I have opted for moist paper towel for substrate since that allows them to forage for prey easier,as well as quick clean-up. While these reptiles are known to prefer coller temperatures, I utilize a zoo med under tank heater to allow for a warmer spot in the event that they choose to bask. I feed them medium sized meal worms, and leave zuppreme parrot pellets in the tank for the meal worms to forrage on as they will gut load the worms with all the necessary nutrients that the lizards need. Any suggestions or comments as to improve their husbandry would be greatly appreciated.
