I tried hand-feeding my CalKing again last night. This time, I offered an adult mouse, but he wasn't interested in doing this trick again. He's begun going into his shed cycle, so I wasn't expecting much. I put the mouse in his hide dish. He went back into his substrate for about fifteen minutes and then came back to get the mouse. I'm actually very happy just to see him eat this close to shedding. My timing isn't always that good, and he'll sometimes be without food for several weeks before he gets through the shed and feels like eating again. He may need two weeks to be through the cycle and ready to eat, but two weeks should be fine for him.

It's not how many snakes you have. It's how happy and healthy you can keep them.
