need help herping in Arizona

lauzon Apr 15, 2006 11:13 AM

I'm traveling from Alberta Canada and will be in the Phoenix area by Sunday April 16. Just wondering if there is anyone in that area that knows of good areas to find interesting snake species (and hints times of day etc). I'm a biologist and I'm interesting in photographing wild snakes and other herps. Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks

Cruise the roads at night. If there hasn't been any rain or if there's a full moon, the odds are against you. Stay off beaten path, use less traveled roads and good luck!

Thanks,
I'm staying at a campsite at Lake Pleasant, North of Phoenix. I don't think there's been any rain but I'll give it a shot anyway. I only have a few days.

I had trouble finding internet here but if you have any more hints, I'll check a little later. Hopefully I find some critters!
