Couple of questions....

nita Apr 15, 2006 12:08 PM

1) Someone mentioned that one of the big investment magazines, forune 500 or something wrote an article about ball pythons? Anyone know where I could get a hold of that article?

2) What does an Ultrasound machine go for and where could I get one. I suck at palpating.

Don't know about the first question. You can check the K.S. calssifieds under cages, supplies and there is some ultra sounds listed for about 3,000. Hope I could help. Jon

question 2 >..........I don't bother palpating or looking for sperm plugs .......and ultrasounds sound like a waste of cash to me....

they lay if they want and don't if they don't.....

.......you will know if they are gravid or not.......

so breed all year till they are.....

With bonus of an ultrasound though is to determine the best time to put a male in with the female. Why put him in there if she is no where near ready right, conserve his energy and lower risks due to stress on the males. Also it lets me know right off the bat if a female simply isn't going to go.

Furthermore, an ultrasound would be an awfully neat gadget. As a guy, I always support people getting gadgets.

It's not how many snakes you have. It's how happy and healthy you can keep them.

LOL, I agree too, my hubby was the one to suggest getting an ultrasound. He loves candling the eggs to see inside. Definately cooler to see inside the snake itself
