help shedding

allanh Apr 15, 2006 12:33 PM

I have a young, i believe to be male, mali uromastyx. He shed recently and he shedded on his back and belly okay, but the other day when i looked at his tail i saw a row of discolored scales. i looked closer and i noticed that it apears to be unshedded scales. it appears he didnt shed from the base of his tail to about halfway down his tail. I am not sure what to do i have tried soaking him in warm water and i am not sure what else i can do. If anyone has any knowledge aobut this please help me out.

my uros usually shed their bodies and then a couple days later their tails start to turn whitish and then they will shed too.

the top part of his tail turned whitish because it is going to peel first and then in a little while the bottom part of the tail will shed too.

however, if you are certain that there is something wrong with his shed, you can soak him in warm water and then rub some mineral oil on the scales that appear to be stuck
