yay my westerns have mated...

Well as it says, my westerns have mated, fingers crossed i don't have heat mat failure this year.

Though very disapointed that my red keeps getting attacked by the males. I know she's very flighty still so is this likely to be to hold her down. I do worry as they aren't for letting go, and have caused a bit of damage on her neck. Also sometimes they've gone straight for her tail and bit it bloody hard.

Mike

Just gotta find out who my friend will use for his new orders and see if they can catch any whips for me.

I'm a French newcomer on the net and I have a question re the breeding of Coachwhips: for both sexes respectively, is the first shed after winter rest a pre-mating, or a post-mating one? In fact, I wonder the same about every taxon of Coluber or Masticophis.

The knowledge regarding first shed of the year is determining for breeding success, especially when sexes are kept separate, but more than often missing in breeding reports though.

Thanks in advance for replying.

Best regards.

Benjamin

P.S. Sorry for bad English!
