Yes - it has every subspecies then known illustrated, and comprehensive descriptions. Some of the photos are not so good - a few are too dark/poorly lighted. Also, because it covers so many subs, it doesn't go into much detail about each.

Nonetheless, if you find a copy, get it!!

Well, I would say no.
Kingsnakes and Milksnakes,1990 T.F.H. publications,Ronald G.Markel 144ppg. in Hardcover is the one you're referring to I think.
Kingsnakes and Milksnakes A Complete Owner's Guide,1995
Ronald G. Markel and R.D.Bartlett 94ppg. in softcover is a great book as well and has all the same things plus a few others but doesn't have the drawings and counts you describe.
Get both anyway....

The two Crimsonking mentioned are the two best IMHO. Lots of really good info in those two books. I refer to the one by Markel and Bartlett more than the other. There is really good info on sexing and breeding and incubation times on most subspecies of K-snakes in that one.

Aside from the books mentioned there is a kingsnake book in the works by my bud Brian Hubbs. This will be a definitive work covering all subspecies of L.getula like they have never been covered before. Last I talked to Brian this book should be released later this year. It will be a great resource for all you kingsnake afficiando's!

I'm enjoying Mountain Kings. If the new one is out by early September, I may get it for my birthday.

It's not how many snakes you have. It's how happy and healthy you can keep them.
