I know these technically are kings, but they are still considered tricolors by many ..I just thought I'd share.
This is what I call a superstripe, stripe x stripe breeding produced these. All were 1--% striped from head to tail...I wonder what super X super would produce?I think an albino one of these would rock!!

Beautifull animal, it looks great.
What s.s is that?
Do you believe that might be a co-dominant gene? I'm looking for a co dominant gene in colubrids for a long time.

Keep us updated.

These are Lampropeltis ruthveni..
I havn't quite figured out what these genes are up to yet, seems they are both co-dominant and recessive. Here's my results from breeding so far. Tell me what you think.

Stripe X Normal produce hets and about 1/4 aberancies that are a mix between being patternless and striped, I have hatched out animals that were 25-60% aberrant from this breeding. So this leads me to think there is some sort of Co-dominance in affect here. This trait would be very interesting if a Striped het for albino was bred to an albino, then it is conceivable I could produce albino aberrants. Now weather they breed true is still a question, would they be het for striped etc.. or would they breed like a true homozygous animal?

Stripe X Het produces easily 1/2 striped aberrancies with another 1/4 having patternless/striping traits.. This is neat because of the higher % of aberrancies.

Stripe X Stripe produces superstripes which are my favorite so far. The patterns are nearly 100% perfect with only slight variations between hatchlings concerning colors.

I have yet bred supers together or super x het , or stripe, so there could still be many other looks hiding in there.I havn't bred patternless together either.

Personally I can't wait to get albino's, I believe they will be some of the most mind blowing morphs ever produced.
Wish me luck!!!
