Odd color change?

fourquet Apr 17, 2006 12:48 AM

I have had this Soron for a bit iver a year now, and it has yet to get the slightest bit of green. however it is lightening in color dramaticly. The first picture was from roughly last september, and the second is from about a week ago (fresh after a shed). Is this typical? Any thoughts?

Nothing to unusual. If you have your hopes set on a high yellow animal, you want to look for scattered green scales coming in one scale at a time and at the same time the dorsal pattern starting to get lighter.

In my experience seeing an animal change like yours is, is a sign of a green animal with a very nice blue stripe.

I agree with some of what Julian said. It looks like you chondro will be a nice lime green with a bright blue stripe.

I disagree with the statement of high yellow animals only getting one scale at a time with green. Here a couple of high yellow animals whos' color faded in all at once over about a 3 week period. These are from the same lineage as Summer.

Mine didn't change until she was about 14 months old. She got lighter in the markings but she started getting a wash of green in her scales. I thought she'd never change, but she did and she's a beautiful girl (at least this prejudiced mom thinks so).
