Thank you Brian and Chrissy ... I wouldn't have known you couldn't see the picture if you didn't let me know. Sorry, it was on a section of my forum that isn't viewable to the public. I uploaded it to my photo gallery so it should be viewable now.

Thank you

I'm sorry if that sounded odd. I have a message board which anyone can join, but I have it set up so some of the forums are for members only ... just to give members a bit of privacy, although nothing is truly private on the internet

Chrissy - I know you like rats so I thought I'd share these - this is my pied clutch from a couple of weeks ago - luckily this batch was female heavy so we can hold back some of the more interesting ones for breeders - I hate feeding off the cute ones!

Not the best picture these suckers really move ...

This is Brian Chrissy is at work right now but I will tell her to read this when she gets home.
Just thought I would post because she got me hooked too. As for feeding them off, we have not yet feed one lol. Sold them for store credit at her work. We have about 20 or so f/t in the frezzer right now. So we don't need to us them for food yet. lol can not wait tell we have to use them. no really, don't want to, but that is why we started this project.

LOL you made me go looking for pic's to post
These 2 are about 2 weeks

And this is about 3 weeks. There is 5 of them on there lol
We held back 3. 1 male because she liked him and 2 females.

Cute rat pic's lol

well, I tried, but the elephant was too shy... sorry, couldn't help it..

I dont think so, not that I am away of anyways. They were just sold to me as regular ol' rats. I just started breeding about a month ago, and I am still populating my colony, I didn't want to go out and buy 1.2 for each tub, then 3 weeks later, have 80 to 100 babies running around...

What exactly is dumbo? Do they look different? Ill post a picture of the parents tomorrow.

Your little girl is beautiful and it's great to see her with a pet rat. Rats make great pets but unfortunately they have a bad reputation and most people think hamsters and gerbils make better pets, when in reality hamsters and gerbils don't tolerate humans nearly as well as rats do. I think rats like bonding with humans; I know mine look forward to me spending time with them each day.

I hadn't thought of Dumbo the elephant ... good one Jarskie

I don't dare get into the genetics of rats here, yikes ... but Dumbos are a type of rat. They are very friendly and cute as hell. Dumbos aren't as afraid of humans as a regular rat and I find they don't defecate as frequently as regular rats do.

Nearly all my rodents in my rodent room have dumbo in them, which makes it difficult to feed them off. At one point in time I had over 60 pet rats because of how cute they all are, I couldn't feed them off. I had to come to grips with the fact that I breed them to feed to the snakes and if I continued on that way I would have all pets and no feeders.

LOL we are going the same route. lucky for us at the moment we don't need any and sell the over stock to her work for store credit. gots love it.

ps. Thanx for the comp. on my daughter and dumbo pic. That is the only one I have of the dumbos right now. I better get some pic's done because 8 out of 11 babies are going to store this weekend.

Chrissy here they are very cute to bad no one ships live rodents other wise i would have you send me a few. It also looks like you are using the same bedding as we tried but had problems with our dumbo babys getting it in thier eyes so we switched back to the shaved aspen rather than shredded. I medicated them and now they are all better but thier eyes were all dry and nasty looking but some eye drops and they were fine.
