Hey,
The ages are as mentioned, 3-4 years for females and 2-3 for males. Weight should be as follows. Females should be no less than 12-24lbs, and males can weigh anywhere from 8-18lbs. The heavier a female is, and I don't mean healthy weight, I mean over weight, the less she is likely to reproduce viable egg's.

Hola,
Yes! it is sometimes a necessary process for breeding bloods and short-tails, that you cool them for breeding reasons. Males and females will sometimes breed, but will not produce egg's if not cooled sufficiently for at least a period of 8 weeks. So yes! it is necessary, but not always. I have had 2 female black bloods produce viable egg's without cooling either the females or the male. JM2C!

Hola, como andas?
Is it too many to ask for the hibernation temperature, I read that is 70F, is this OK?
Thanks, anyway for your other question.
