New hatchling wont eat

waspinator421 Apr 17, 2006 07:43 PM

Hello all, thanks for taking the time to read my post.

I had a leo hatch on Friday the 14th, and he hasn't eaten yet. I know they should eat their shed within the first couple days, and then will accept food. In my limited breeding experience, I have never "caught" the first shed, but have never had problems with the hatchlings accepting food.

This is my first hatchling in a couple years (didn't have the time last season), so I guess I'm a little out of practice.

Any ideas to get him started, or am I just being impatient?

Thanks!

I don't even offer food till they are a week old. Ones that don't eat I just seperate and then attempt to feed them a few days later. This usually helps as they don't feel bullied by others over food.

I wouldn't worry till it's been 2 weeks myself, just as long as the leo looks healthy still and not thin or lethargic.

Ok, perhaps I am a little impatient, lol. I won't get worried till it's been over a week.

Thanks!
