AZTEC OPAL X LAV MOTLEY QUESTION

JustinMitcham Apr 17, 2006 11:54 PM

Recently I aquired the opal aztec pictured at the top of the forums. What a goergeous animal. I bred her to the Lavender Motley below and she will be laying soon. I was trying to figure out the genetic of the babies and what would be if they were bred together.
This what I got..does this look right??

Lavender Motley X Opal Aztec = Lavenders Het Opal ,Motley and Aztec

Lavender triple het X lavender triple het produces
Opal Het Aztec and Mot
Opal Aztec Het Mot
Opal Motley Het Aztec
Lavenders Het Aztec ,Mot and Opal
Lavender Aztec Het Mot and Opal
Lavender Motley Het Aztec Opal

Aztec is not a simple recessive trait. You can't have 'het aztec' any more than you can have 'het okeetee'.

Lavender Motley X Opal Aztec = Lavenders Het Opal, Motley, possibly (probably) showing some Aztecing in the F1s.

F2s = Lavenders, Lav Motleys, Opals, Opal Motleys, any of which may show aztecing as well (though I'm unclear what effect aztec has on motley).

In case you're wondering, the snake in this pic is a 2005 lav from Aztec Lav X plain Lav het Amel.
