Several weeks ago Mid Michigan Reptile Rescue received it's largest intake of animals in a single operation...28 animals in all. These included 4 Cyclura iguanas, 9 Tegus, and 15 monitors. Most of these animals must have been spectacular at some point but show some recent neglect. It was quite a collection for one person and included some interesting species of monitors, i.e., Crocs, Bluetails, Peachthroats, and Timors to name a few.
My question concerns the Blue Tegus that we received. The female, to the best of my knowledge, appears to be a possible Blue/Red cross. Her color and pattern is just not typical of the Blue Tegus that I keep and have kept. I was hoping that maybe some experienced keepers here could offer their opinion. I've included photos of her and some of the other animals from this rescue.
The other Tegus are a male Blue, 3 adult male Argentine B/W's, and a group of 1.3 Reds. The male Red is humongous and a nice looking animal.
