I made it back! and all functions are normal! ha ha. Belize has the coolest zoo! Tons of big cats and birds, all of the animals live in the area and the ones on display were injured or seized by the Govt. (Cant have wild pets there) But they are pretty much free to leave but they stay there and enjoy being shown. Monkeys running around, Tucans buzzing by. Great Zoo! I also love the Mayan ruins in Costa Maya, WOW!!! Jungle everywhere! Iguanas everywhere! in every tree you cant fids a 4 foot iguana!

O.K. on to the pictures!

I didnt find and Torts there, but I did find a rare white Alligator at the Tampa Florida Aquarium, it is white with blue eyes, Not albino! WOW! There are only 20 of these known in the world and they are all males from the same clutch of eggs. Very Cool!

There was also a huge enclosure which held about a dozen of these florida Box torts. a guy at the flee market told me that they are everywhere in florida, crossing the roads and hanging out all over but I did not see any in the wild while I was there.

and last but not least.... Can anyone tell me if this is a real Meteorite. I have been told that it is, but not by anyone with any real background in this area.

Welcome back! Sounds like you had a great time. I've seen those white alligators on TV but never in person.

I have a chunk of meteorite that my dad gave me when I was a kid, it's very metallic looking but still looks like a rock that's about all I know about them.. I have no idea if what's in the photo really is one.

I hope you won't eat burgers and fries on it, & talk to it.
OH I'm sorry, I was having a Joe Dirt flashback. LOL

The box turtles in the pic are very pretty.
When you got back were your tortoises happy to see you? I'll bet you were happy to see them.

I'm glad you got to the Tampa Aquarium to see the sights. We live in St Pete and I have had a family membership for the last two years. My kids are so tired of going, but I love to go and watch all the animals, but have to admit that the boxies are my favorites. I also like to see the daimondback terrapins (spelling?) though water turtles are not my favorite. The new white gator is new, he is awesome. I have about 5 florida boxies that have been brought to me by locals that have found them injured on the road or being tortured by local kids. They are around, but are very scarce. Glad you enjoyed!
