is she sick??

Ok so here is the deal. I have an approximately 5 month old veiled cham. Recently I put a box of sand in her tank, in case she needs to lay some infertile eggs. I noticed her flinging her tongue in the sand a couple of times, and I got really worried. I noticed that there were a bunch of pinhead crickets in the sand and most likely she was trying to get them, but also she ate some sand. She seemed to pass the sand ok, and I noticed it in her fecal matter. That was about 2 weeks ago.... Now since then, she has only pooed 3 times and it has been very runny and stinky... is she ok?

Normally she would poo everyday and it would be solid. I also noticed some undigested worms in her fecal matter... also another thing, I gave her a bunch of small meal worms and it is only her second time having worms, normally she just feasts on crickets.. could this be something to do with it? I am really worried, I have never seen her have runny fecal matter before..

thanks for any help

The fact that the poop has changed (frequency and consistency) and is now runny and stinky and there is undigested insect matter in it would indicate that something is wrong. I would take it to the vets for a fecal.

Also, some types of soil and sand can be eaten/ingested and go through the chameleon without causing any problems; others cause impactions.

thanks for the help as always... I figured something may be wrong, but I also thought it may have just been a bad batch of worms. She did seem to have a regular poop yesterday, solid and not stinky, but I will definitly keep a close watch and take her in if it persists.
