Caging and info help.

FloridaHogs Apr 18, 2006 11:02 AM

I am looking for informatio and caging requirements for Mediterranean Geckos. How often do you feed them? I have 3 adults and 2 juvis. These are my first attempt with Geckos, so I am really in the dark.

i haven't kept this gecko, but i think if you are keeping 5 a 20 gallon is minimum, a 30 or 40 breeder would be best. have a warm side of at least 85 and don't let it go below 70 at night. have lots of hiding spots and have water available. as far as feeding feed 2 out of 3 days, experiment cause every animal is different, at least every other day, and put in like 10 each time maybe. if they look skinny feed more, if really fat feed less. mave a tight fitting screen lid and spot clean every day, i saw you had reptile carpet, that is a pain in the butt to clean, i recomand getting reptibark... for easier maintnence. dust crix with vitiman/calcium supplements every other feeding and you should be good. good luck and feel free to ask more questions!

Thanks so much. At this point any info is helpful. These geckos max. length is about 5". Most that I have seen are less than that, so I am looking at a 10 for the 3 adults, and a large critter keeper for the 2 juvies (they are about 2" right now). Think that is OK? I am going to provide a humid hide as well as dry.

Is male barking a sign of agression, courting, or both? I am pretty sure I have a male and 2 females. Can you tell by these pics?

As far as the carpet goes, I have severel pieces cut out (8) and I just run them through the sanitary cycle of my washing machine and let them line dry. I have used them with snakes and turtles without any problems so far.

Thanks Again
