How long to freeze bd eggs

jakentbc Apr 18, 2006 03:47 PM

So my four year old laid 31 eggs today. I didn't want her to breed this year but it happened. I don't have the time to raise the babies this year. I want to freeze them so that they won't hatch in a landfill. how long do i do it for? or is there a different method for this?

12-24 hours in the freezer will kill the eggs. Your female may lay a couple more clutches over the breeding season, roughly 3-4 weeks apart. Make sure she has plenty of calcium to prevent any troubles.

Definitely work with her diet as she lays this year. As dragons get older and mature egg laying takes a larger toll on them. Too bad you don't have time to raise the little ones...

If you didn't want her to breed, why did you house her with a male?

There's about a .01% chance of the eggs hatching in a landfill anyways, but I guess I could understand why you would want to make sure they don't hatch.
