You should be able to get it at a hardware store it's sand they use for kid's sand boxes they have it in 30 pound bag's or so.Just make sure it say's washed and screened on bag.

Do I have to add water or anything to it before adding it to the cage?

I'm no expert i know you need the humidity level around 20 percent which is pretty dry so i wouldn't think so,but it wouldn't hurt to look into it further,Wish i could be more help!

Go to Lowes or Home Depot. Buy play sand. Take home, wash out dust & screen out any large particles. Dry. Put in cage. You're done.

I agree that washing the sand, and screening it is ideal. However, I just dump the sand straight into the tank. There are some prerequisites though, you have to make sure that the bag says "washed play sand". As already mentioned it is for kids sand boxes. This is important because it means that the sand is mostly round, as opposed to sand used in construction which tends to have jagged edges. Jagged edges grip each other very well, which is good in construction, but can lead to impaction in your Uro's cage. Play around with brands, I have found a brand that has little to no dust straight out of the bag, so I am comfortable just dumping it in. I am also very careful to pick a bag that is dry. Sometimes they get wet, which seems to me like it might invite bugs, though I have no proof of that.

Good luck!
