Where are the babies???

mike3 Jul 29, 2003 11:39 PM

I have malis eggs incubating at 92-93 degrees F in a hovabotor. I know they are supose to hatch betweek 55-65 days. But today is day 65 and no signs of hatching. how long until i should start worrying about the eggs. When you feed the hatchlings poo is it supose to be fresh dry poo or fresh wet poo. Also, should i only feed them the black part or should i feed them the white part too?

I think it's wet and the green part. Just to get some helpful bacteria in them.

I wouldn't worry yet about the eggs. Sometimes they can go over quite a bit from the expected date. Can you candle the eggs with a flashlight to see if you see any movement? I feed mine the poop after it dries and crumble it around the cut greens, I just feed the dark part of poo. Good luck.

There are 6 eggs and some of them are totally different.

1 huge one that is almost twice as thick as all the others
when candled almost all of the egg is dark
1 big one that is big but not as big as the huge one
when candled almost all of the egg is dark
1 is very long and narrow
when i candled it there was a dark spot in the middle of it
3 average sized eggs
when candled mostly dark

One of the average sized eggs has a black line on the shell that is about 2-3 mm long. When i candled this egg the black line glew. Is it hatching??

Also, can the big eggs actually have 2 uros inside. If those two eggs hold twins what are the chances of survival?
