Ball Bellies question?????

repzoo44 Apr 18, 2006 10:29 PM

This may be a stupid question and I feel like I should already know the answer but anyway........do normal ball python bellies vary greatly from all white to patches of black/brown. Like how corns have a checkerboard pattern and ringneck snakes have a very particular pattern, is it different for balls. Thanks for playing.

A ball pythons belly varies as much as the snakes themselves do.Out of every 5 ball pythons you see 3 look different some way or how.You see a lot of clear white bellies, some have black lines down the sides, some have speckled black white and brown, and some area mix. They are a naturally variable snake. Thats what makes them so fun, you can never get bored.

Funny aint it - I had balls for 20 years before the appearance of a belly even became an issue to me.

Yeah, it was kind of weird. Ive just always seen the clean white belly of my girl and when I looked at my male and saw the mess and yellow on his belly it got me wondering. I was trying not to make a "hey, is this a YB" type post as they are both just farm hatched balls. LOL
