Louie1 Apr 19, 2006 07:09 AM

Is there such a thing? If so can someone post a picture of one?

Yes there are, but it has been a relatively quiet project until the numbers are available. You should see more about them this year.

How many people are working with them? Is there any pics available?

Thanks,

I'm not sure on either question.

As soon as I get more info, I'll share it.

As far as I know, there is only one Anery/Axanthic Hognose. There may be more stashed away somewhere. I have a pair of double het for Snows that I paid dearly for last year. They will breed next year, so then I will hopefully have more Anery pics and if I'm lucky some Snow pics.
I'm attaching a pic of the Anery/Axanthic male that fathered my hets. It's not the best pic I've ever seen, but it will give you an idea of what they look like...Enjoy!!

Beautiful looking hog! So who owns this one? How was it acquired (wild caught or cb)? How many are in captivity currently ~? How much are they going for? Have they been proven genetic? Wow that's a lot of questions, sorry just very excited.

Thanks!!!

As far as I know there is only one like it in existence. It is owned by Brian Barczyck of BHB Enterprises. It was bred to an Albino to produce double hets, last year. Since it is the only one, so far, it han't been proven genetically. But I'm sure it will be the same as any other Anery.
It will probably be at least a couple of years until anything, other than hets, will be available. It will depend on how ssuccessful we are at breeding them.
