Crested STILL not eating.

MdngtRain Apr 19, 2006 07:14 AM

Hi guys,
I was wondering if you had any suggestions; my juvi crested doesn't seem to eat much, if anything. I change out his CGD every other day, and it is untouched. My other crestie (the first one) eats like a horse. The little one (Harley) used to eat a bit when he was in his small kritter keeper. I moved him out of that about 3 weeks ago, b/c it was just way too small. He moved from a 5gal kritter keeper to a 76gal planted tupperware box. I thought at first that the new enclosure might be too big & he would have trouble finding his CGD, so I placed it by his favorite plant. He at least walked through it the first few nights, but after that it was untouched.
Any suggestions?

Small crested geckos have such a small food requirement that it often seems that they are not eating. A technique that I use is to put CGD on his nose and he is sure to lick it off. I have never had a crested gecko that starved to death. He is probably eating but it is hard to tell. Also a 76gal tupperware container may be alittle too big for now.

Ha ok this doesn't have anything to do with your post- but your picture! It made me laugh because I thought that your finger was your wrist with a bracelet on. So if you look at it that way it looks like a gigantic crested. He he - but anyway - it's a really nice and healthly looking gecko!
