Hey,

Yes this is a very beautiful snake. It looks almost identical to Coluber sinai. The difference between the two is that sinai has more bands. Trying to find common names and these snakes is very hard, you could use the latin name and make one. For example, when Coluber comes to mind, you think of racer, and elegantissimus you think elegant? You could call them the Elegant Racer. And actually I have heard them called that before. Have you found any actual pics of these snakes? I have only seen illustrations. I made a website on snakes of egypt. www.greenpinemuseum.com/reptilesofegypt.html. Check it out! Hope I have helped you in some small way. Regards, William H.

i have found it under the name elegant racer too. do you have any care or natural history info on them? that seems to be the hardest part to find

It is nothing like the sinia racer, it is a big snake that naturally feeds on rodents. It is kept the same way as you would keep any north american ratsnake, I keep all my snakes from the middle east and egypt in plastic bins and they do just fine.
I have 10 of these beautiful snakes coming from Jordan, here is a pic of them and now you know why they are call The most beautiful whipsnake/racer
*this pic is not mine as you can see but in a few weeks time I will have 10 heads of my own to snap pics of*

enjoy
