Dandelions

chadkitt Apr 20, 2006 01:32 AM

It is becoming dandelion season in my area and I was curious about dandelion feeding. Many sites say that they make excellent uro food. Is this the common weed we are talking about? Will I just be able to go into my back yard and collect some dandelions then wash them and use them for food? Which parts should I feed, flower, stem, leaves? Thanks.

If your lawn is not treated with POISONS then yes dandelions are one of the uros' favorite snacks the whole YELLOW flower and stem id fine, and the leaves also are very nutritious and TASTY, to them .

Mine also love rose pedals, day lillies, pansies, hibicus flowers. They seem to go for the color yellow.

Again it is important to know there are no chemicals on your lawn or your neighbors if you pick anything close to their/your property. Always wash good anyway!

Hope he enjoys his TREAT
