Shipping a savannah

GaiasPriestess Jul 30, 2003 02:38 AM

Hey guys, haven't posted in a LONG time, but I'm shipping a rescued savannah from VA to FL and need a little help. I've never shipped an animal, and I need opinions on the best way to ship him, and where to buy shipping supplies. Thanks.

Heather,

If small, get a large, thick pillow case, a box and something to insulate the box (styrofoam box inserts work well). This is more to insulate from environment, not temperature. Allow air in and out while keeping the box taped up well. Make sure to write LIVE ANIMAL on it. Most airlines will accept it, and even send it freight collect.

If large, ask again for someone with experience shipping large lizards.

Good luck,
