my friend was given a 2ft. iguana but it cant really climb on any of the branches that he put in the cage. does this sound like it could be calcium problem.
he has a light on it. it might even be a uv/sun light not to sure.

How does the iguana look? How does the body feel?
Any swollen jaws or bones? Spongy?

How active is it, besides not climbing?
Is it properly fed? At 2 feet, it needs a BIG enclosure (adult size).

Was it taken to the vet? (Amazing how many people still can't grasp that).

Does it have all the proper lighting? One for heat, the other for UV.

Could be MBD, hence why a visit to a vet is imperative.

This may sound redundant, but tell your friend to visit Melissa Kaplan's website for some great free information.

this was given to my friend from someone who came to his store. was thinking the former owner didnt know what they were doing. the cage is 1/4 in mesh, 2.5ft. X 2.5ft x 4ft. from i can remember. he/she eats well. it gets salad tomatoes, squash, or cucumbers and iggy chow,(its colored red green and darker green.) has a light about 1-2ft from the the iguana. i watched it today and it tried to climb but fell after a bit. looks healthy and has good color from what i think the iguana would have. the eyes look clear no clouding, i had him/her on my shouder.
i forgot about melissa kaplan site. has been a while since i been there.
will and get back to you on its condition.

Get rid of the tomatos.
Does it have all the proper lighting? 1-2 feet is good, but the cage is miserably small. It's like living in a closet.

Mesh is good for ventilation, but does not hold heat and humidity, so frequent misting is necessary, and if possible, replace 3 walls with glass/plexiglass. The top should allow heat to escape, to prevent cooking the animal, but not so much that all the heat is immediately lost.

How does it walk?

Let us know its condition after the Vet.
