PROBLEM WITH MY WHITE'S!!!!

Voltron23 Jul 30, 2003 02:42 AM

When I bought my two White's treefrogs... they were very bright green... but now, they are nothing but absolutly brown. I had read about these types of frogs before I purchased them, and every website showed pictures of these amazing looking White's that were bright green, and sometimes bluish. What is the reason for my treefrogs to be brown? Is there something I should do about this? WHAT can I do about this? Oh, and also... I had read that the White's are supposed to be "active." My two don't do anything except for sit there... is there something wrong going on here? PLEASE SOMEBODY HELP WITH THESE QUESTIONS!!!!

you should have done more research on WTF's before you bought them. WTF's can change color depending on many factors like lighting, humidity, temps, size od enclosure, stress etc. what is your set-up like? temps? humidity? enclosure size? etc

check my web-site for a care sheet on WTF's

Luke is absolutely right but just to add one thing. Some Whites change colour depending on what they are doing and that is normal.
One of mine is always browner than the other when he is sleeping but once he wakes, he turns green. The other one is bright green all the time and turns brown when you hold her.

Heat, light and humidity can play a role though as can stress. Once you have had them for a while you will get to pick when individual frogs are just brown coz thats them.

Check Lukes site and check that your light, humidity amd heat are all fine, if they are don't worry about it.

If they have lots of places to hide and be happy, thats cool.
