toronga zoo in sydney advised it to me. but it hasnt done a very good job of being a substrate.

are there any substrates you advise that does its job well?

but plz i need some advise for getting the dust plug out!

You can use newspaper or paper towel for a dust-free substrate instead.

The plugs should come out with his next shed. I would reccomend paper towels or aspen shavings as substrate.

I love it when the "professionals" dispense this kind of advice, kitty litter is for cats not reptiles. I would relay your problem to the yoyo that suggested kitty litter as a substrate. And then tell him to send you a donation for the vets office.

First off, GET RID OF THAT BEDDING. If ur snake can still breath without "gaping", leave her alone. It will come out of its own accord. If she is having to "gape" in order to breath, remove the plug with a pair of fine tipped forceps/tweesers. DO NOT SOAK HER OR MOISTEN THE PLUG-chances r that she'll aspirate it into her lungs, You'll have to carefully insert the forceps into her nostril and gently pull to remove the plug. If u r unsure take her to ur vet. Good luck, hope it all turns out for the best.

Kitty Litter should never be used as a substrate for reptiles. What kind of python do you have? Newspaper or paper towel, as some of the others suggested on this forum is a very clean and easy way to keep your snake. Aspen shavings also work, but I'm not too fond of it myself. I would suggest paper towel because I find it is more sanitary than aspen shavings and makes for easier cleanup.
