Lavender kings

xblackheart Apr 21, 2006 02:04 AM

I may have asked this before, but I can not find it.
How does lavender work? I have a lavender brooksi and a lavender cal king that I got at a reptile show on the 8th. I have heard with leopard geckos that lavenders are albinos that were incubated at a weird temp, or some such thing. Are lavender kings regular albinos that were incubated at an odd temp? Or is it genetic?
thanks

the Lavender mutation in cali kings and Fl. kings are 100% genetic... however those two lavender strains are not allelic (meaning they are not compatible) ... so if u bred the two lavenders you'll end up with all normals that are 100% hets for both lavender strains)

Lavender kings are T Positive, Tyrosinase Positive. If you do a search via Google you can find all the details.
