reflectix. how should i use it?

kirkpatrick Apr 21, 2006 10:27 AM

Would I use it on the inside of the building to keep the cooler air in or put it on the roof to reflect the sun and protect the inside from that heat?

also if i need to put it on the roof. how will it hold up to rain, wind, etc...

If you install it properly on the inside it will both keep in heat and reflect radiant energy from the sun. You'll want to incorporate an air space between the Reflectix and the walls and roof of the building. You may need to also ventilate those air spaces. Once you get your building up you should call a company representative. I have found them to be very helpful.

When you call the company you'll need to be very specific about the building construction and materials. Don't just call and say you're putting it on walls.

The shed kit you linked to yesterday likely has some sort of interior ridges where panels lock together. They may form a sufficient air space by themselves. Little bits of information like that will be necessary for the company to help you install the product to its best efficiency.
