Q regarding humidity

SimplyRed Apr 21, 2006 11:36 AM

In this book it says if there is condensation inside the container than drips, its too humid and to get more ventilation. well I did that and now it seems like its not humid enough. Whats the deal and how can I get a happy medium?

How much are humidity guages?

How much are temp guns? (on average)

Go to walmart, you can get a humidity gauge for like 8 bucks and its even digital plus it has a thermometer on it but you dont really need that.

As far as maintaining a good level it depends on the kind of vivarium you have, glass, wood, plastic etc. Post your set-up and im sure more people will be able to give you better advice!

Sounds like what i have. You also might want to spray down the enclosure once a day with a mister to bring the humidity up and i think you already said you had something covering it but go with something non-porus as it will hold humidity beter as not allowing it to breath. Ofcourse dont cover the whole cage maybe like 75% of it or leave a lil space on each end is what i do.

Also i think oyu asked about temp guns.... 25 bucks plus shipping on proexotics web site. There awesome and i would recomend all herps to have one in there arsenal!
