Rosa Leigh, my Chilean Rose Hair tarantula just died. She had been acting odd the last few days and was not sure if it was premolt - it was not. Last week I gave my big Lasiodora T to a friend for (live) research so I all I have now is my little pinktoe. I am very sad about losing her.

thanks, I only had her about 2 years. I adopted her and Natasha, my big birdeater, from someone who couldn't keep them any longer. I was told that Rosa was about 6 or 7 at that time. Females usually live 20 years so we are not sure what happened. I JUST gave Natasha (last week) to a friend who does research on spider silk at UNH so I now only have my littel pink toe. I will miss Rosa Leigh

I am so sorry....How long did you have it? Do you know why it died?

I'm really sorry Lele. I've had my Rose Hair for over 10 years now and I'm very attached to her so I can imagine what you're going thru. Good luck, Valerie.

That's a shame and hurts as much as any pet. Some would wonder why you are sad over a spider, but they have personality just like any little critter.
