...reputible breeders.
I have a female red that is about a year and a half old. I have owned her for a year. When I got her she was suffering from metabolic bone disease. We dealt with that and assumed that because of the calcium deficiency, she walked with a little hunch in her back. NEVER ASSUME! We just got back from the vet because she had lost the use of her hind legs...$538.00 later, a bladder stone the size of an adult thumb was removed. This was putting pressure on her spine and causing her to have constipation problems and nerve problems. The vet said this is something that she has had for over a year and it has been growing. Now, she has permanent spine damage and will never walk normal...the moral of the story is always get your tegu checked out completely to avoid painful situations for them and costly situations for you.
