We use peat moss in our humids. We mist once a day to once every 2 days. Just depends i suppose. We mist ours enough to where everything is moist. Not drenched but enough to where everything is nice and moist.

Depending on your geckos age and likes will depend on how much to mist aswell. Our baby gecko loves it when its nice and almost drenched. she hangs out in there until the water starts to dry up then on to another hide. This also helps with keeping her hydrated! Mist away and make sure its on the warm side and you hsould be fine!

P.S. We live in colorado also and its like semi-desert here so lots of misting is needed. It will depend on what part of the country your from to how often oyu need to mist it. If it needs it everyday then by all please do and you will have a happy gecko! :D

We are in colorado too, I am using bed a beast. I find that I have to mist at least every other day, and when it is warmer, every day. Temperature and outside relative humidity are always a factor. Keeping them with higher humidity also helps them when they are shedding. Just my $0.02.

Sorry for the delay in posting, I am also in Colorado Springs. Having 14 boas, 17 Ball Pythons and my 10 leos, its sometimes difficult to get on here. I just started with the leos late March, and now have 3 sets of eggs in the incubator. )

Take care.
