Blood weight question

pythonis Apr 23, 2006 04:32 AM

I dont know much about the growth rates of s.t.'s so forgive me if this is a stupid question. is 494 grams considered low, high, or within acceptable limits for a yearling male black? i received it as a neonate (im guessing thats what it would be called) sometime late feb/early march 05. i feed him 1 to 2 small rats per week (thats what he is at now) unless he is in shed. his last meal was a f/t small rat on 4/20. thanks a bunch. unless you dont answer then i guess it wont matter if i thank you or not.

For a yearling that is a little low, but if he is feeding well I wouldn't worry about it too much. Many people are too quick to raise up an animal for breeding purposes, only to over-feed it and have it not breed for them because it's too fat.

thanks. i guess with bloods it is better to have them on the low than on the high side.
