Digital Scales

Can anyone recommend a make, model and supplier for a reasonably priced digital scale for hatchling to adult colubrids?

I have a little postal scale that I don't really like. If I were going to do it all over again, I'd get the one that MGReptiles sells. You can check them out at MGReptiles.com. They're located in West Virginia, so the shipping to Roanoke should be fairly quick.

I earned my bachelor's degree at Virginia Tech (actually, Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University back then), so seeing your address brought back memories. I bet it's gorgeous there right now. I'm feeling a little jealous just thinking about being at a zoo there.

It's not how many snakes you have. It's how happy and healthy you can keep them.

I reccomend the OHAUS CS5000. Many scales only so weights for up to subadult size but this one does up to 5000 grams and has been a very good item for me. I beleive I paid $100 for it. Here is a link that tells more.

I have an Escali. I'm not sure what the model is, but it looks like the 136DS. It's very slim and chic. The capacity is 6000 grams. I bought this 3 or 4 years ago on eBay for $30, and it's still as good as new.

I also keep a second scale to use specifically for quarantined animals, since those are the ones I've ever had to weigh regularly.
