Bloodred corn

konekoraar Apr 23, 2006 02:24 PM

I'm hoping to get a bloodred corn at the Pittsburgh show in May. Any tips on how to pick a hatchling that will grow to be a very hansom snake? I have experience with purchasing other reptiles from shows, but this will be my first corn. I'm quite excited.

As far as bloodreds go, you want to look for an absolutely plain belly (no checkers). Red creeping onto the belly is fine, but should not appear to be partial checkering. You also want a bloodred corn with as little side-patterning as possible.

Of course, one man's beauty is another man's ugly, so it's all a matter of taste. The above is advice for if you want something closer to the unicolor red that is the generally accepted ideal for bloodred corns.
