Hi, I am planning on getting a Mali Uro soon and would like to know how long it takes for a Mali Uro to reach full adult size?, Also for how long would a 47x22 cage be suitable?, and one more thing, Would the UV rays of a Reptisun 5.0 be in maximum effect in a cage height of 15"?

Thank you

I'm not gonna get into the other things, but I can say one thing: my uros fell a bit into the early stages of metabolic bone disease when I first got them (it was too cold to put them outside), they would not in the least show any signs of recovery until I got an 8.0 bulb. I don't know about others' experiences, but considering they are desert animals, and are very suceptable to MBD, I would postulate that a 5.0 bulb would not be adequate UV.

The highest I have ever seen was the 5.0

I had to have my reptile store special order it, the highest they had was 7.0. The 8.0 is defietely worth it; they are total sun worshipers. Even under this intense light they still do not change color much, only when in the sun does my young male mali turn white. The bulb was similiar price to the other levels. Reassuringly I saw it was the proper one when I got it, it says so on the box.
