according to "the horned frog family and african bullfrogs" by R. D. bartlett and Patricia Bartlett on CUTS AND SCRAPES
"these may be of mechanical or bacterial origin. For cuts and scrapes, a mild antibiotic salve, may hasten healing and the removal from the cage of the object causing the injury will prevent re-occurance. Veterinary assessment is suggested for the lesions. The causative agent- which may be a parasite, an infection, or a mechanical injury- must be isolated and identified"
im not sure what they mean by mild antibiotic salve, hope this is of some help and im glad your crabs are doing fine and hope your pacman recovers swiftly.

Yes it is of some help and ive been spending time researching what to do and what is safe to use and what isnt. The bleeding seems to have slowed down alot or stopped completly, but im still worried about it getting in fected later on, since im still not sure on what is safe to use and what isnt ive just been cleaning the wound with water, and im going to consult a vet today. I figured out were it came from, it came from the cricket i was feeding it. When the frog jumped it rubbed the back of the cricket were its mid and aft section join ( im really rusty on insect anatomy so i have forgotten there proper names) and got the shell that protrudes a litte to cut the side of his head a little. I literally spent all night searching his home for anything that would have caused the cut and found nothing, untill i looked in the jar i keep the crickets in and noticed the one had a small about of the frogs blood on the mid section of it. I examind the cricket closer and noticed the shell sticking out alitte. so from not on in the future im going to remove that from the crickets before feeding so i dont risk this happening again. The frog ( i still havent named him so that is why i keep refering to it as the frog) it self seems to be doing alot better and is starting to go back his normal self and even croked a few times last night wich excited me since it was the first time he has since i got him. Thank you for showing concern and providing me with what info you can.

you can apply plain old neosporan or a triple antibiotic cream to the frogs open wound. put it on in a thin layer, and make sure there is no dirt that your frog can burrow into. if you have your frog in a tank with a soil substrate, remove the frog to a seperate enclosure with wet paper towels until healing of the wound s complete. you can use novasan, a blusish color liquid diluted with water to clean the wound if you have access to it.

thats awesome that he was croaking and it also seems like a pretty good indicator that he is happy, and not too distressed by his cut, hopefully hes on the mend.
