Hi all, I’ve been a long time lurker here and I finally got some bloods of my own. Yesterday, at the Hamburg PA show, I purchased two female bloods. One was from Regal Reptiles and the other was from Snakebstr (who I have to say was wonderful, very friendly and informative). I got my first bite today; wow those girls can really pack a punch for such little critters. Hopefully, I’ll be able to post some pictures soon to show off my new pets. I look forward to learning as much as I can from you guys. . .

Welcome to the wonderful world of being a blood and short tail owner..I have to say out of the 8 we have here I have never been tagged by one, not even babies we hatched, but you know I could always change that if I go poke around at some lol.

It was actually quite a surprise when she tagged me. I had already had her out earlier while I watched TV and she was so calm. She got me when I was transferring her to her permanent home later that day. I was holding her with both hands gently, not gripping her, and she slowly reached out and just bit my finger. I haven't been bitten in so long; I was kinda disappointed to have my streak broken. I consider it my initiation though; bloods are so different than any other snakes I’ve ever owned. They are bound to be become my new favorite obsessions . . .
