I went to Las Vegas this week and got out to hike for about 2 hrs. I saw the usual side blotched lizards, scorpions, stink beetles...etc. I also saw four of these guys...
I thought it was a young alligator lizard at first, but it looks really different from the ones in Southern California. I had a hard time getting good pictures, but I figured if there was someone who was pretty familiar with the area, they would recognize it anyway.
