Do snakes yawn a lot??

does anyone know if its an actual yawn like what we do or what is the purpose of it?

snakes do occasionally yawn, however i noticed you had a question earlier about gasping after a large meal. The 2 symptoms put together sounds like the beginning of a respitory infection. Add the fact that earlier you said he was roaming rubbing his face on the side of the enclosure and that's more evidence for a RI. I'd raise the temps up and get the snake to a vet as soon as you can move it safely without causing a regurge.

Snakes usually yawn for a few main reasons
1) To prepare their jaw muscles for a large meal
2) To re-align their jaws after a big meal
3) If they do it all the time it could be the start of a Respiratory Infection
4) Just because
