Belly pic...

Midland Watersnake, Nerodia sipedon pleuralis
Now bear in mind that the answer came from the same fella who posted a pic of a boomslang & said he had bought it at a local pet shop & was it a keeled green snake? Oh..sorry that was posted on April 1st, and his answer today is absolutely correct.
~~Greg~~
A boomerang snake? What kinda thang is that?

Thanks, guys. You would not believe (well of course you would believe) how many people with us insisted that it was a venomous snake because of the shape of its head.
Oh yes I would!! Don't you know there are only three kinds of snakes in TN? Those around water(cottonmouth), those away from water(copperhead), and those nasty little ground rattlers, which are usually dekay's snakes...lol.
Love your response! I was relocated for 16 months in the same general area as dangerjudy's campsite. I agree with you on the three kinds, but you forgot the fourth. Many locals will tell you about it--the best kind of snake--the DEAD snake, (preferably run over by a vehicle with tall, fat, mud-suckin' tires)!
Now back in civilization--

althea
